"The soldiers of the 3rd Brigade, 3rd GRU special purpose brigade of the Russian armed forces are urgently leaving the town of Brianka in the Luhansk region, where they were stationed for a long time and conducted sabotage and reconnaissance tasks in the occupied territories of the Eastern Ukraine," the statement says.

The personnel of the group is returning to the places of permanent deployment. The aircraft that will redeploy the Russian troops arrived at the Millerovo airport (Rostov region) and will soon depart for Samara.

"It should be noted that the redeployment of the Russian commandos started as soon as the Ukrainian side demonstrated the undeniable fact of Russian troops' presence in the Eastern Ukraine to the world. Thus, the Russian Federation is trying to hide the fact of the presence of its troops in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and participation in hostilities against the Ukrainian military," the General Staff noted
