On May 21-23, 2014 Chief Military Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the SBU unmasked a number of illegal acts of corruption by officials of the armed forces of Ukraine and other military units and law enforcement agencies involved in the anti-terrorist operation in the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as government officials located within these areas.

This is reported by Corruption.info citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

"Thus on May 21, 2015 a senior officer of the recruiting department of ae military commissariat of the Donetsk region, who received improper benefits in the amount of 12,000 hryvnia for assistance on his part in the dismissal of citizens from conscription to military service in the armed forces of Ukraine was detained," the statement says.

In addition, On May 23, 2015, Head of the Migration Service of one of the cities of the Donetsk region, who received improper benefits in the amount of 8,000 hryvnia for issuing passports to residents of temporarily uncontrolled territory of the Donetsk region was also detained.

"These people have been notified of suspicion of committing crimes under pt. 3, Art. 368 of the Criminal Code (illegal receipt of benefits by an official accompanied by extortion)," the agency reported.

It is also noted that the on May 23, 2015 company commander of the logistics of a separate mechanized infantry battalion was detained on suspicion of committing a crime under pt. 3, Art.. 369 of the Criminal Code (providing illegal benefits to the official, which occupies a position of responsibility) who provided improper benefits to an officer for assistance in moving vehicles with cargo to the territory temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

These persons were detained, they were notified of the suspicion and the court ruled on their detention.
