Germany will contribute to the financing of safety studies of mines in Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the anti-terrorist operation zone, said Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik after a meeting of the Tripartite Liaison Group in Minsk.
Following the results of the meeting of sub-working group on economic affairs, it was agreed to conduct safety studies of mines that are located in the conflict area. The studies will be financed by Germany, according to Sajdik.
In addition, he noted that the representatives of the Liaison Group welcomed observance of ceasefire in Donbas starting from the end of August 2015.
Sajdik stressed that the Tripartite Liaison Group expects that this positive trend will allow for progress on the issues discussed in the contact group.
The Tripartite Liaison Group on the settlement of the situation in Donbas will hold next meeting in Minsk on September 22.
