DESPERATE Islamic State jihadis have resorted to running fish farms in an attempt to claw back money lost from obliterated oil fields.

The crazed terror cult reportedly makes around £2billion every year with most of that coming from oil and gas sales from Iraq and Syria.

But following US-led airstrikes on ISIS' cash reserve facilities and oil fields, the depraved group has looked for alternate ways to generate money.

The war-crazed group – also called Daesh – is now said to be earning millions of dollars a month running car dealerships and fish farms in Iraq.

Judge Jabbar Abid al-Huchaimi said in a report: "The terrorists' current financing mechanism has changed in the past two years.

"After the armed forces took control of several oil fields Daesh devised non-traditional ways of paying its fighters and financing its activities."

The report which quotes the Iraqi judge, revealed the sick group is using the northern Baghdad province as its "financial centre."

Fish farms have given terror group al-Qaeda income since 2007 and is now a new source of finance for ISIS, according to the report.

The jihadis also tax agricultural land and have imposed a 10 per cent levy on poultry and a range of imports to their territory, the report added.

The Iraqi judge said: "Recently there has been reliance on agricultural lands in areas outside the control of the [Iraqi] security forces through taxes imposed on farmers.

"In the recent period, Daesh has gone back to using government factories in the areas it controls – like Mosul – for financial returns."

The Iraqi report described how funds were funnelled to Bayt al-Mal, the group's finance ministry, in Mosul and then distributed to its provinces.
