The plane, EN route from Paris to Cairo (flight MS804), disappeared from radar screens in the early morning of may 19. On Board citizens of 12 countries, total 66 (Russians were not among them): 56 passengers, three security officer and seven crew members.

The search operation is conducted mainly in the area South of the Greek island Karpathos, about 80 kilometers East of Crete, where the plane went missing. In search of the liner involved and military experts from Greece, France, UK, Cyprus, Italy and Egypt. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi gave the order the Ministry of civil aviation, search and rescue center of the army, Navy and air force to take all necessary measures to search for the wreckage of EgyptAir plane.
