A BOY aged just 12 was banned form visiting British football grounds along with more than 100 other under 18s, shock figures have revealed.

The worrying statistics have emerged following the widespread violence between England supports, Russian hooligans and local ‘Ultras’ at Euro 2016.

The new breed of ‘schooligans’ saw one boy, 12, banned as a result of widespread disorder following Newcastle United’s 3-0 loss to bitter rivals Sunderland in April 2013.

The youngster is said to have thrown missiles at opposition fans and was abusive.

Police forces up and down Britain are said to have found evidence of images glorifying football violence on social media.

The epidemic of young football hooligans has resulted in officers going into schools to warn of the dangers of hooliganism amid fears some youngsters are carrying out deplorable acts to “look hard”.

Northumbria Police banned a total of 43 under 18’s between April 2013-April 2016 with 38 being Newcastle fans and five Sunderland fans, according to figures.

Cleveland Police revealed one 14-year-old Bury fan received a banning order along with 11 under 18s.

In Scotland, 13 under 18 supports of Rangers, Hamilton, Motherwell, Hearts, Dunfermline, Dundee United, Hibernian and Celtic were also banned.

Other young supporters of AFC Wimbledon, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Fulham, QPR, Millwall, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan have been banned.

But one major force had no teens on a Football Banning Order (FBO) as stats show how different forces tackle the scourge on the beautiful game.

Amanda Jacks, of the Football Supporters’ Federation, said: “There is a glamorisation of football disorder and kids are attracted to it.

“There does need to be some consistency — if 14, 15, 16-year-olds get banning orders, that should be the last resort, not the first.”

More than 120 fans aged over 50, including a 60-year-old Arsenal fan, were also banned from going to matches, according to the findings.
