THE next Euromillions winner will be a Briton after it was revealed a UK ticket holder scooped the £61.1million jackpot.

National Lottery announced the winner matched all seven numbers to grab the mammoth sum.

The winning numbers were 01, 21, 26, 40, and 50.

The lucky star numbers are 02 and 04.

The jackpot, a total of £61,102,443, is the fourth to be won in the UK this year.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "The UK's lucky streak is never ending — the £61 million EuroMillions jackpot is the fourth one to be won here this year.

"As well as the huge jackpot, five players won a guaranteed £1 million and a luxury trip to the Gold Coast in the UK Millionaire Maker."

The chances of winning the grand prize sit at one in 117 million.

Players reacted with fury earlier this month after operator Camelot annouced it would hike increase ticket prices 50p to £2.50.

And punters called for a boycott of the game after the introduction of an extra "Lucky Star" saw the chances of winning jump from one-in-117 million to one-in-140 million.

One £148million winner of the game revealed how he had returned to work because he was "bored".

Adrian Bayford from Carnoustie, Angus, said he is sick of sitting in his £6m mansion all day.

National Lottery did not confirm whether the winner has come forward yet.
