Amber Portwood Is Leaving ‘Teen Mom OG,’ MTV Star Explains Why She’s Done With The Show

Amber Portwood is saying goodbye to MTV’s “Teen Mom OG.” After getting into a fight with her co-star Farrah Abraham at the reunion special, Amber said she’s been dealing with a ton of disrespect and won’t put up with it anymore.

Amber first announced her departure from the reality TV series on Thursday via an Instagram post. “I’ll be leaving #teenmomog sadly,” she captioned a photo of her and her cast mates Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout and Farrah. “The lack of respect is too much anymore! But still sending all my love!”

The 26-year-old mom of one then took to Twitter early Friday morning to further explain her decision to leave the show. “Sad to say but I’m not going to be apart of #Teenmomog. The way I have been portrayed and treated is unfair. @MTV sending all my love,” she wrote in one post. In another tweet she said: “If I was treated fairly it wouldn’t be an issue but it’s been nothing but disrespect since the reunion show. Which keeps continuing today.”

Nothing has been dealt with or has made me feel any safer to even move on with people who have continuously hidden things from the network.

Amber’s news that she’s leaving comes one week after MTV aired its 2016 “Teen Mom OG” reunion special, in which she and Farrah got into a physical brawl. The drama started when Amber was asked by host Dr. Drew Pinski to explain her relationship with Farrah. Amber said she and the 25-year-old mom of one used to be friendly but that ended after Farrah did an interview slamming Amber and her household.

“She decided to do an interview saying something about how it’s good that [my daughter] Leah is with Gary [Shirley] and how my house probably smells like piss,” she said. “You don’t do that.” Things then escalated when Farrah came out for her sit down with Dr. Drew and said something about Amber’s fiancé, Matt Baier, looking like “a pedophile.”

Amber suddenly stormed onto the stage and she and Farrah got into a screaming match. Amber then tried to swing at her MTV co-star. During the commotion, Matt and Farrah’s dad Michael got into a fight.

Shortly after the episode aired, Amber took to Instagram to explain that the network cut a lot of stuff out of the reunion so fans didn’t get to see Michael “literally screaming” in her face, calling her names and supposedly putting his hands on Matt’s neck. “After 8 years this is so disrespectful.. I’ve worked too hard on myself to take this kind of disrespect,” she posted.
