Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has died aged 60.
Fisher passed away after suffering a heart attack.
A statement released on behalf of her daughter Billie Lourd, published via People, said the star will ‘be missed profoundly’.
It reads: It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning.
‘She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.’
Her death comes a week after she suffered a heart attack on a plane flying from London to Los Angeles.
The most recent update on her condition came from her mother Debbie Reynolds, who said she was ‘stable’.
Fisher is best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, most recently appearing in Episode 7, The Force Awakens.

Earlier this year, Fisher revealed she had an affair with co-star Harrison Ford while making Star Wars in 1979.
