Kurt Busch gets married to Ashley Van Metre in the Caribbean [GALLERY]

Congratulations to 2004 NASCAR Premier Series champion Kurt Busch and renowned polo player and model Ashley Van Metre, who got married over the weekend.

Based off of the couple’s social media, the wedding took place on Saturday, Jan. 7, on the Caribbean island of Saint Barthelemy.

Last September, Busch confirmed to FOXSports.com that he and Van Metre were getting married in the Caribbean. The couple planned an intimate wedding with about 30 guests, followed by a party for about 300 friends and family in Florida afterward, Busch said.

The couple has kept the event as a private affair with only a photo of their hands, displaying their rings, from the tropical destination.

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch has been trying to sell his penthouse for years.

Now he’s offering something a bit closer to earth, or rather water: a vacant lot in Croatan Beach for $1.5 million.

Kris Weaver, president of Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, said the quarter-acre property at 500 S. Atlantic Ave. faces Lake Wesley in the front and the Atlantic Ocean in the back, and sits at the northern edge of the beach near Rudee Inlet.

Weaver has been representing Busch to sell both the penthouse and land.

Busch has a $1.95 million price tag attached to his penthouse at the Westin Virginia Beach Town Center Residences. It’s been on the market for more than 270 days.

He has attempted to sell the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath condo before, in 2013.

According to a Zillow.com article at the time, he listed the 3,371-square-foot penthouse for $2.8 million, nearly the same price he paid for it in 2008.

Busch married Chesapeake native Eva Bryan in an Eastern Shore wedding at developer Dan Hoffler’s estate in 2006, but they divorced in 2011.

More recently, Busch has said he plans to marry model and professional polo player Ashley Van Metre of Middleburg after the holidays.

A representative for Busch did not respond to calls and emails seeking comment.

Busch finished seventh in the latest Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
