"The situation in Shyrokyne village is stably difficult. Starting from 11:40 a.m. the militants have fired at positions of the Ukrainian military from large-caliber machine guns, small arms, AGS, RPGs, 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. Several times they also fired from a self-propelled artillery platform. As a result, a Donbas battalion soldier was wounded. The shelling continues," the report as of 2 p.m. on May 24 reads.
One hour later Azov battalion informed that the intensity of terrorist shelling decreased.
"The situation is still tense. After the four-hour shelling, it is still not calm in Shyrokyne. One soldier of the Donbas battalion, which is now on the frontline, was killed and one more wounded as of 3 p.m. on May 24," the report reads.
