There is submission of the Cabinet to the president for appointment of Saakashvili governor of Odesa region — Presidential Administration

The Minister of Ecology Ihor Shevchenko wrote on Facebook, Corruption.info reports.

"Another meritocrat appointed to a senior position in Ukraine! Mikheil Saakashvili became Governor of the Odesa region!" Shevchenko wrote. The information was confirmed by journalist Denys Bigus:

"Saakashvili appointed governor of the Odesa region. I've received several messages in private chat. The Cabinet has just done it."

However, Shevchenko has altered his statement later and wrote that Saakashvili has not yet been appointed, and a final decision will be made by Poroshenko.

The Administration of the President confirmed that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposed the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to appoint former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili to the post of the Odesa Regional State Administration head.

"There is such a submission of the Cabinet of Ministers to the president," Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valerii Chalyi said.
