Korupciya.world reports citing  Ukraine Today

Russian state broadcaster RIA Novosti reports that the British bank Barclay's has suspsended the account of a representative office of Kremlin-sponsored Russia Today TV due to sanctions against Russia imposed by of the British government.

"The account is closed … the bank should send a relevant notification," RIA Novosti quoted the bank's representative as saying.

The same source later said that the UK Treasury put Russia Today General Director Dmitry Kiselev on the list of persons subject to financial sanctions, a possible reason why the Russia Today office fell under financial constraints.

Dmitry Kiselev described an incident as "censorship."

"Closing the account of a leading news agency is censorship and direct obstruction of journalists' work. What kind of freedom of press and democracy in the UK can we talk about, if the country does not allow one of the world's major news agencies to work?," Kiselev said.

Currently, the account is closed, access to the information is denied. Russia Today said it did not receive advance official notification from the bank about the account closure or reasons for such a decision.

A month ago France arrested property of Russia Today TV channel in Paris, according to the Russian edition of Forbes, citing the head of Group Menatep Limited, Tim Osborne.
