Despite less provocations by the Russian proxies near Luhansk, Mariupol and Artemivsk, active military confrontation continues near the militant stronghold of Donetsk, according to the ATO press center.
"On August 01, from 18:00 Kyiv time until midnight, the enemy fired 120mm mortar shells three times on Ukrainian positions near Pisky. Avdiyivka, Opytne and Krasnohorivka also came under mortar fire", the press center wrote on Facebook.
These villages have for the past few days been in the eye of fierce fighting along the demarcation line.
The ATO headquarters noted that the militants have been firing artillery, mortars and small arms virtually around the clock, neglecting the Minsk ceasefire agreements.
"Individual cases of enemy using large caliber artillery is recorded in the direction of Artemivsk. For example, at about 21:00 Kyiv time, the Russian proxies fired 120mm mortar shells on Zolote, and in 22:10 Kyiv time — fired on Troistske from infantry fighting vehicles," reported the press center.
