The employees of JSC Tactical Missiles Corporation were forced to work in three shifts due to the growing demand in the supply of Russian weapons to Syria, according to the Russian newspaper Kommersant.
"In order to deliver weapons to Tartous, the Russian Navy has urgently bought eight Turkish transport ships and very swiftly enrolled them in the register of auxiliary vessels, thus giving them military status: large landing ships couldn't cope alone with such a load," the newspaper said.
A source in the General Staff also said that the core of Russia's military contingent in Syria included contract servicemen of the 810th Separate Brigade of Marines (Sevastopol) and the 7th Air Assault Mountain Airborne Division (the village of Raevskaya). However, he said that their main task was mainly to protect facilities, but not to fight with Islamic radicals.
