It is believed one person was taken to hospital after the incident that caused chaos in Glasgow
Drivers are facing huge delays after a car burst into flames on a city centre motorway.
A white hatchback was pictured by other passers-by shortly after it turned into a huge fireball in Glasgow.
The incident happened near the city's Royal Infirmary and two lanes on the M8 Westbound are closed with one lane of the Eastbound also closed.
Traffic Scotland confirmed on Twitter that traffic was heavy between junctions 13 and 19 with no estimate given as to when the motorway would fully reopen.
Pictures show the vehicle burning wildly after mounting a crash barrier at around 12.35pm this afternoon, reports the Daily Record.
A fire engine was also photographed at the scene while the white vehicle was still in flames.
It is believed one person was taken to hospital after the incident but no further details are available.
