Coal supplies to be resumed after Crimea starts receiving electricity, — Energy Minister Demchyshyn

Resuming coal supplies is only possible after one of the lines powering Crimea is put into operation, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn said.

"As soon as the line powering "Tytan" is put into operation, we will solve the problem of coal. Therefore, it's about our problems' settlement, not theirs," he told reporters in Kyiv on Friday.

According to Demchyshyn, the Cabinet also supports the idea of launching one of the lines supplying electricity to the peninsula. The minister said a number of representatives of foreign embassies had approached him with a request to resume supply of electricity to Crimea.

According to acting director of Ukrenerho Vsevolod Kovalchuk, 2-3 hours are needed to finish repairs at the damaged Kakhovska-Tytan power line in the Kherson region, provided there is a relevant sanction by law enforcers and an access is granted by activists.
