Third June 2011 Dell'orefays Carmen (Carmen Dell'Orefice) was 80 years old, but she still continues to go to the podium and to take part in shows. She began her career in 1942 at age 11, when she accidentally noticed on the bus the wife of one of the most popular while fashion photographers.

In 1946, Carmen made her debut on the pages of Vogue and signed its first major contract under which she was paid 7.5 dollars per hour. Then there were brilliant career, fame and a happy full life. However, in 2008, the Carmen has remained virtually penniless — all her money ran notorious financial swindler Bernard Madoff, a former long years of her friend.

And Carmen was back on the podium, after which it was entered into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest career as a model.
