A new Ukrainian Constitution should provide a clear division of responsibilities between the branches of power, head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Ambassador Jan Tombinski said during the forum "The Constitution: Public Trust and a New Justice," according to Ukrainian online newspaper RBC-Ukraine.
"Today, we are talking about constitutional amendments regarding the judicial system. I would insist on the need for constant work on a new Constitution of Ukraine… Perhaps, it is necessary to create a Constitution that will meet demand for a parliamentary republic. It should clearly outline the distribution of functions, a division of responsibility between the different branches of power," Tombinski said.
The ambassador recalled that the EU provided assistance to Ukraine in implementing reforms.
