Macaulay Culkin is ‘Home Alone’ again as grown-up Kevin

On its surface, “Home Alone” is an adorable holiday flick about a cute little kid who defends his family’s house by making silly booby traps. A different perspective, however, could say the film is about a neglected child whose family endangers him, nearly resulting in his death at the hands of home invaders.

Which is the idea behind the first episode of the web series “:DRYVRS,” which guest-stars Macaulay Culkin as a Kevin-like adult who now works for a ride-sharing app. In the clip, the former child star picks up series star Jack Dishel, and accompanies him for a memorable ride.

Talking fast and dropping f-bombs, it is immediately clear that this  driver has some issues. Starting with the fact that he doesn’t know how to drive.

The fun begins when Culkin’s character receives a call “from my mom,” with the “Home Alone” music as her ringtone. Defending his decision to not take her call, he explains the situation.

“How about this,” he begins, setting the stage. “It’s Christmas time, and your whole family goes on vacation, and they forget their 8-year-old f***ing son.”

“All by yourself, in the house, for a week,” he continues, pulling drags off a cigarette. “I had to defend my house from two psychopath home invaders. I mean, I still have nightmares about this bald weirdo dude chasing me around talking like Yosemite Sam: ‘I’m gonna pull your fingernails out!'”

“They didn’t even curse!” he says. “They called me ‘louse’ and s*** like that.” And that’s when Kevin’s handy-dandy knack for painful booby traps comes into play.

This is only the first episode of “:DRYVRS,” and we’re not sure how many other famous friends musician Jack Dishel has (future episodes promise Rosanna Arquette and Steven Weber) — but here’s hoping that every episode of the Web series is as funny as this one.
