Eddie Redmayne has given up the battle before it's even begun, ahead of Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony.
Last year's Best Actor winner has conceded to Leonardo DiCaprio, revealing on Friday night that even he believes it's The Revenant actor's year.
Eddie, 34, who took the prize in 2015 for The Theory Of Everything, says he is happy to 'enjoy the night' after being nominated for a second year running with The Danish Girl.
Eddie, who was accompanied by pregnant wife Hannah Redmayne, added on his own accolade, the act: 'To be nominated again is just the greatest honour and especially in that company of actors.
'I am not getting carried away. I still pinch myself about last year, let alone what is happening again.'
British born actor Eddie served as co-host for the reception at the weekend, alongside The Late Late Show presenter James Corden.
Eddie is nominated for his portrayal of transgender woman Lili Elbe; he won his first Oscar in the same category for his characterisation of physicist Stephen Hawking.
This year's ceremony, taking place in Hollywood on Sunday night, will mark the fifth time that Titanic actor Leo has been pitted for the honour.
Though he was not among the stars gathered to celebrate the British Oscar nominees on Friday, the US star is one of the front-runners.
So far this awards season, Leo has taken the BAFTA, Critics' Choice Award and Golden Globe Awards in the face-off with Redmayne, which often indicates who will take the Oscar.
Eddie's co-star in The Danish Girl, Alicia Vikander with whom Eddie reunited later that night, arrived to the reception in a light blue high-neck dress, featuring an elaborate floral pattern.
