A CONTROVERSIAL mosque which backed ISIS has sparked further controversy after a hidden camera found an imam calling for adulterers to be stoned to death.

Hidden television cameras found preacher Abu Bilal Ismail making his outrageous comments at the Grimhoj mosque in Aarhus, Denmark.

He was delivering a lecture on the appropriate punishment for cheating wives and girlfriends and said: "If a married or divorced woman engages in fornication, and she is not a virgin, she should be stoned to death.

"If someone violates their marriage, either man or woman, they commit adultery and their blood is thus halal and they should be killed by stoning. If the woman is a virgin, the punishment is whipping.

The imam is also seen advocating an eye-for-an-eye saying: "If someone kills a Muslim, then they should be killed."

He suggests death is also a suitable punishment for any muslim who becomes an apsotate, abandoniong their religion.

This is not the first time hate-preacher Ismail has been caught on camera.

In July 2014, a video emerged of him asking God to "destroy the Zionist Jews".

And the mosque itself hit the headlines later that year when it declared its support for the Islamic State.

Mosque chairman Oussama El-Saadi said: "We want the Islamic State to come out on top. We want an Islamic state in the world.”

Denmark's Integration Minister Inger Stojberg criticised the preacher, saying: ""It is completely unheard of that there are people in Denmark preaching this sort of thing. It clearly does not belong here. He doesn't belong in Denmark either."

The latest footage has now led to renewed calls for the Danish Mosque to be closed down.

Social Democrats spokesman Dan Jorgensen told TV2: "This is deeply, deeply unacceptable. That there are even people like this that have these kinds of ideas is insane."

Marcus Knuth from the ruling Venstre party added: "What is so shocking is that there are so many cases involving this mosque and that they just keep coming. That is almost the worst thing – that they haven't learned anything and still practise these types of things and encourage this Stone Age behaviour."

A spokesman for the Mosque, El-Saadi, said: "We believe in Islam as it is, but as our imam says we live in Denmark, where there is freedom, and we follow Danish rules and Danish laws. So stoning and whipping aren't valid in Denmark."
