Additional protection was ordered by a judge on Friday for Charlie Sheen's ex-fiancée.

Previously, Scottine Rossi, who once was engaged to the former Two and a Half Men star, accused the actor of threatening her and was granted an emergency protective order. That lasted roughly a week.

On Friday, Rossi, 26, presented more evidence against Sheen, 50, saying she was fearful for her life, and a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the actor.

"The court today recognized the seriousness of the threats and issued a restraining order that's in effect for three more weeks," Rossi's lawyer, David Ring, of Los Angeles firm Taylor & Ring, tells USA TODAY. "Ms. Rossi continues to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure her safety."

A hearing was set for April 28, at which Sheen, or his lawyers, will present his side of the case.

Parts of a taped phone call, which have been reported by RadarOnline.com and purportedly include Sheen threatening to bury Rossi, were used by Rossi as evidence. According to the Associated Press, the celebrity news site has said it was served with a warrant seeking the audio.

Rossi's lawyer has denied that Rossi had anything to do with the recording.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on Thursday it has opened a criminal investigation against Charlie Sheen. Ring confirmed Sheen is being investigated for allegedly threatening to have his client killed.

Sheen has a history of turbulent relations with the women in his life, and his problems only increased after he acknowledged in 2015 that he is HIV positive and had been for years before he told anyone.

Rossi, one of the women Sheen claims "extorted" him for millions after they learned of his HIV-positive status, is suing him, claiming he reneged on a $1 million settlement and also forced her to abort her baby because of fear the child would be HIV-positive, too.

Rossi, an adult-film star who performs under the name Brett Rossi, was engaged to Sheen from November 2013 to October 2014. She sued Sheen in December, claiming assault and battery, emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence, according to documents received by USA TODAY.

Sheen's lawyer, Martin Singer, did not immediately return a call for comment.
