TWO people have been rushed to hospital after a supermarket was struck TWICE by lightning.

A Morrisons in Kent had to be evacuated after lightning hit the roof twice within seconds during a thunderstorm.

Emergency services including two fire engines and two ambulance and two paramedic cars were called to the scene in Wincheap, Canterbury, at 3.45pm.

The shop was evacuated amid fears the lightning strikes had started a fire.

South East Coast Ambulance service said two people were taken to hospital as a precaution but their injuries are not thought to be serious.
