A crewless ship washed ashore in Liberia last week, according to NBC News.
The oil tanker, Tamaya 1, reported it's last known coordinates April 22 heading toward the Dakar port in Senegal, according to World Maritime News. It was found about 47 miles west of Monrovia May 4.
It's unclear what happened to the ship, which was flying a Nigerian flag and found vandalized.

Investigators are looking into a possible pirate attack, and other scenarios, including abandonment.
“Our best bet is that the vessel’s owner might have gone broke and had no money to pay crew members … and therefore, the crew abandoned the ship," a port authority said to news.com.au.
No lifeboats were found on board.
