In common with all other East Anglian Air Ambulance pilots, he is formally employed by Bond Air Services and will draw a salary which he will donate to charity. The job is now the Duke's primary occupation, but his roster will also take into account the duties and responsibilities he will continue to undertake on behalf of the Queen. Prince William started his training for his Air Transport Pilot's Licence (Helicopter) last September, which culminated in 14 exams and a flight test.
