‘Close the mosques, ban the Koran’ LBC presenter hits back at anti-Islam caller

PRESENTER-689876

THIS is the moment a man who called into a radio station to suggest Muslims in the UK should return "to their Islamic countries” was ridiculed.

At least 84 people were killed in the terror attack on France as the country celebrated Bastille Day.

The terrorist has been named as 31-year-old French-Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.

In the wake of the horrific attack, LBC caller Paul demanded Muslims in the UK "reject Jihad" to fit into British society.

He told presenter James O'Brien: "We need to close the mosques, we need to ban the Koran, we need to recognise that Islam is a takeover movement and if we don't face up to it these mass murders are going to go on and on."

Pressing Paul to explain how he would impose these suggestions, James asked: "So we're burning books now and closing places of worship, but all these people will still be here Paul, what are we going to do with them?"

The enraged caller responded: "I’d rather burn books then see people burned to death in bombs and guns. Let’s stop them coming in.

"We have to say to them: 'If you want to be a part of this society, you must reject Jihad.'

"You have to fit in with Christianity. No one kills for Jesus. With Buddhism, no one kills for Buddha.

"If they want to practise the Islamic faith, let them go back to their Islamic countries. Kill each other, but stop killing us."

Claiming that Islam was the only religion that sparked violence, James was quick to correct him: "There’s buddhist atrocities unfolding as we speak. What do we do with the people who are already here?”

Finishing the tense call, Jame announced: "It’s not my fault you haven’t got any powerful arguments. Shutting at me is not going to change that.

"You mate are doing their work for them. You're doing the work of the terrorists.

He added: "You sir are a hate preacher."

World leaders have lined up to condemn the attack while French president Francois Hollande has extended the national state of emergency.

Three days of mourning have been declared as information begins to emerge about the victims of the attack.

French president Mr Hollande said a military operation was in place that would allow the mobilisation of 10,000 military officers.

He said: "France has been hit by a tragedy once again. This monstrosity of using a lorry to deliberately kill people, many people, who only came out to celebrate their national day.

"France is in tears. It is hurting but it is strong, and she will be strong, always stronger than the fanatics who wish to hurt us."

Hundreds of videos have been shared on social media of distraught and panicked eyewitnesses fleeing the horrifying scenes.
