A VICIOUS gang used Pokemon Go to lure victims to a north London park and robbed them at gunpoint.
Three teenagers were left shocked after three men armed with a gun took their possessions in Whittington Park in Islington.
The teens, between the ages of 15 and 18, were playing the augmented reality game on Tuesday night when the trio approached them.
One of the robbers is said to have shown the victims a handgun while a second suspect demanded they hand over their smartphones.
Police are linking the robbery to an incident 30 minutes earlier when a 24-year-old looking for a Pokestop also had his possessions stolen.
The Pokemon Go player was approached by three masked men at around 10pm at the park’s entrance. The men are said to have jabbed a gun to his stomach.
The suspects are believed to have lured their victims to secluded areas using Pokemon Go power-ups, a game feature to attract virtual monsters to a certain spot.
Scotland Yard said they believe the incidents are linked as the suspect descriptions and methods used are "identical", and both happened in close proximity.
All three suspects are described as Asian males, aged 16 to 17, who were dressed in dark colours and had masks covering their faces.
One of the suspects was referred to as 'Kushi.'
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with with information.
Investigating officer Pc Kevin Yeung said: "These were really shocking attacks on young people walking around a much-loved park.
"My team are keen to hear from anyone who can help lead us to the culprits. Robberies where a gun is shown or indicated are very rare and we are keen to apprehend those involved as soon as possible."
Anyone with information was asked to call Islington CID on 020 8345 0262 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
