Kim Kardashian sets record with smash hit mobile game

KIM KARDASHIAN's mobile game has become the top grossing game of all time based on a person.

The reality star launched Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in June 2014 and by November that year, it was reported she had already earned £33 million from the game. CNN Money estimated Kim Kardashian: Hollywood was raking in £537,961 each day during the height of its popularity.

On Monday (08Aug16), Kim took to her Snapchat to share footage of her meeting with Niccolo De Masi, the CEO of gaming company Glu who designed the smash hit game.

In one of the videos, Kim told her fans: "Guys I'm in a meeting for Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, and we're checking out all the fun (outfits)", before turning the camera onto Niccolo, who said: "Many congratulations Kim, we've set a record for the most impressive top grossing game of all time that's based about a person."

Clearly thrilled with the honour, Kim joked with Niccolo, "So that world record is about who?", prompting the CEO to reply, "This world record is about you, and only you Kim. The top grossing person a game has ever been made about a person of all time."

While Kim was already a household name through her reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and various product endorsements, her mobile game has really put her on the map. It has also increased her bank balance exponentially, so much so that Kim was able to splash out on her dream home.

Now the 35-year-old is hoping to add to her property portfolio with the further profits from the game, with Niccolo even suggesting she can afford to buy a "whole island" with the money she has made through the game.

"He's saying an island. My goals were just another home. So we need to come up with some new ideas," she said.

Since Kim's game has been launched, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have both launched rival games.
