Prince's cousin has revealed that the family of the late music icon held a private memorial service on August 12, at a church in Minneapolis following the death of the star, who passed away aged 57.
Speaking to KARE-TV, Chazz Smith said that another private service is also planned for later today (August 13) at Paisley Park.
Smith also explained how the last few months have been difficult for the family, who are doing their best to preserve the legacy and image that Prince left behind, whilst those hoping for a quick bit of cash have been selling false stories about the artist.
Proud to be Prince's cousin, Smith concluded that he hoped his cousin's death would help others struggling with painkiller addictions.
A public tribute to Prince will take place in October at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
