Arsenal player ratings against Liverpool: How did Sanchez rate?

For the third time in four seasons, Arsenal lost their opening Premier League fixture at the Emirates. They were comfortable in the first-half but looked shell shocked at the final whistle.

Petr Cech 6/10 — Was unlucky to concede four goals, being honest. He would have needed a stepladder to have saved Coutinho's pearler of a free-kick in first-half stoppage-time.

Hector Bellerin 5/10 — Didn't do much for Arsenal in this game, and with Alberto Moreno pushing forward so much was perhaps prevented from playing higher than he would have liked.

Rob Holding — 5/10 — Signed from Bolton in the summer, the gulf in quality was evident. He held onto a Liverpool player to give away the foul that led to Coutinho's free-kick and looked unable to keep up with Mane.

Callum Chambers 6/10 — Like Holding, looked uncomfortable in the in the make shift defence as Coutinho tore them apart. Rose well at the other end to grab Arsenal's third, meeting a Santi Cazorla free-kick with a towering header.

Nacho Monreal 5/10 — Was preferred to Kieran Gibbs at left back and it was perhaps the wrong decision. Sadio Mane was too hot for Monreal as his lack of pace was exposed. He also failed to defend against Nathaniel Clyne who set up Coutinho for Liverpool's third.

Francis Coquelin 6/10 — Had a decent first half, winning the ball before laying it off for Alex Iwobi to tee up Theo Walcott for the opener. Other than that was fairly quiet.

Mohamed Elneny 5/10 — Failed to contain Coutinho who dictated the tempo of the game in the second-half. The Egyptian will have better games under Arsene Wenger.

Theo Walcott 7/10 — Won the penalty in the first-half after exploiting the awful Moreno. Though he missed the penalty, he redeemed himself 68 seconds later with a confident finish beyond Mignolet. Will have staked his claim for a starting place next time out.

Aaron Ramsey 6/10 — Started the game well even attempting to lob Mignolet early on. Went quiet in the second-half as Liverpool began to dominate but is comfortably Arsenal's best midfielder at present.
