Film sequel is expected to begin filming in early 2017
Two stars have been linked to roles in the upcoming Deadpool sequel.
The first film became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time after its release in February. Ryan Reynolds played the Marvel superhero, with the filming of a follow-up expected to begin in early 2017.
Speaking on Meet the Movies, Mashable film critic Jeff Sneider claimed that Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler had been linked to the role of Cable, Deadpool's partner-in-crime who was alluded to in a post-credits scene in the first film.
Sneider also said that The Martian actress Mackenzie Davis has been connected to Domino, although nothing is "official" yet. The character of Domino is a member of the X-Men offshoot X-Force.
The first Deadpool movie saw Reynolds flanked by a supporting cast that included Haywire's Gina Carano, former Homeland actress Morena Baccarin, Game Of Thrones veteran Ed Skrein and Silicon Valley star TJ Miller.
The second film is expected for a potential 2018 release.
