You might think #gymnasticsgala is boring, but it produces things like: 1996 ATL Olympian #donghuali 20years later pic.twitter.com/XyyKjKBiVV

In a fun, non-judged event, American medalists Simone Biles and Danell Leyva returned for one last performance in Rio for the Gymnastics Gala on Wednesday.
Biles redeemed her shaky final balance beam routine with an artistic routine. The beam was the only routine in which Biles did not win gold. Instead, she placed behind American Laurie Hernandez and won bronze.
Sanne Wevers, who beat out Biles and Hernandez on the beam, also performed a slow and unique routine to cheers from the crowd.
Silver medalist Leyva was stellar on the parallel bars and Brazil's Arthur Zanetti, who won silver in rings, showed off a powerful routine with a huge round of applause from the crowd.
Brazilian hometown favorite Diego Hypolito drew some of the loudest cheers with his samba-flavored floor routine.
The Gala showcased medalists not just from the Rio Games but from past Olympics. China's Donghua Li, who won gold on the pommel horse in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, came out with and crushed the horse after hobbling out dressed as an old man.
Also featured were gymnasts in non-Olympic events, such as such as acro, synchronized trampoline, couples floor routines and tumbling.
Another gymnastics gala will begin at 2 p.m. ET and will showcase more entertainment as many gymnasts end their run in Rio.
