An eight-year-old school boy from Birmingham was killed after a hand grenade was thrown through an apartment window in Sweden.
Yuusuf Warsame was killed in the south western city of Gothenburg on his way to hospital early yesterday morning, police have said.
It is believed that he was visiting a family that lived in the apartment when the explosion happened.
Swedish media speculated that the attack might be linked to a feud between rival gangs in the region, citing police as saying a man convicted of a fatal shooting in the area last year was registered at the address.
Police forensic officers are investigating the area after an explosion at the apartment block, in Biskopsgarden, Gothenburg, south of Sweden.
Last year, a four-year-old girl died in a car explosion connected to ongoing gang wars in Sweden’s second-largest city.
