Jennifer Lopez splits from boyfriend Casper Smart after five years together

Jennifer Lopez has split from her toy boy lover, it was revealed today.

The 47-year-old pop diva had been dating back-up dancer Casper Smart, 29, for five years.

A source confirmed the break-up to People magazine, but said the couple would remain friends.

'It wasn't anything dramatic and they were on good terms,' the insider told the magazine. 'It just came to a natural end.

Celebrity website TMZ claimed it was mother-of-two Lopez’s decision to end the relationship which began in 2011 when Smart was a dancer on J-Lo’s tour.

Lopez had just separated from third husband Marc Anthony, with whom she has eight-year-old twins. 

She was back on the set of her new US TV police drama ‘Shades of Blue’ yesterday and had no comment on the split.

Perhaps a clue to the separation came in a 2012 quote from Smart, who painted J-Lo as a homebody who preferred to stay away from the bright lights.The singer and actress has just finished a long-running engagement performing at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Lopez was previously married to choreographer Cris Judd, from 2001 to 2003, and to first husband waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998.  She was also in a relationship with Sean Combs in 1999 and was famously engaged to Ben Affleck who cancelled their wedding just before the ceremony in 2003
