Actor Mel Gibson says he will be returning to tell the story of Jesus, twelve years since he made The Passion of the Christ.
The actor and filmmaker created the box office hit in 2004 which recounted the final hours of Jesus' life.
It took in £145 million ($162 million) worldwide.
Mel Gibson has told Yahoo Movies he will now create the next film, The Resurrection.
He said: "It's not the ‘Passion 2.’
"It's called 'The Resurrection.’
"Of course, that's a very big subject and it needs to be looked at because we don't want to just do a simple rendering of it — you know, read what happened.
"But in order to read it, experience and explore probably deeper meanings of what it's about, it's going to take some doing and [screenwriter] Randall Wallace is up to the task."
As of yet there is no official confirmation that the film will go ahead.
