TEHRAN (FNA)- A prominent Syrian military analyst underlined the army's secret high capabilities, and said any Turkish warplane violating Syria's airspace will face the same fate of the Israeli aircraft which were shot downed earlier this month.
"Syria will confront the Turkish fighter jets like the Israeli aircraft since Turkey and the Zionist regime are pressuring the Syrian forces in the Northern and Southern parts of Syria," Issa al-Zahir told FNA on Sunday.
"The sponsors of terrorism are attempting to boost the fully weakened morale of the terrorists by clear intervention, aggression against Syria's territorial integrity and supporting the terrorists logistically," he added.
The General Staff of the Syrian Armed Forces announced last Tuesday that the county's air-defense units deployed in the Southwest of the country shot down two Israeli aircraft in Quneitra province.
"An Israeli aircraft, which had violated the airspace of the Southwestern parts of Quneitra province, was traced and shot down by the anti-aircraft missiles of the Syrian Army in the early hours of this morning," the country's General Staff said in statement.
"Meanwhile, an Israeli spy drone was also targeted by the Syrian army fire on the Western side of Sa'asa' near the Golan Heights," the statement added.
The Israeli military aircraft had violated Syrian territories to back the terrorist groups' offensives on the government forces' positions near Golan Heights in Quneitra.
Turkish fighter jets have also been carrying out several strikes against the ISIL and Kurdish targets in Syria without coordination with the Syrian government.
