Murder probe launched after man’s body is found in Dublin Mountains

Gardaí have begun a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body in the Dublin Mountains.

The man, who was in his 60s, was found close to a forest track on Ballinascorney Hill in Brittas yesterday.

He had been reported missing from the area on Thursday.

The probe was launched after a postmortem at Tallaght Hospital, gardaí said. Officers are due to appeal for witnesses at a briefing near the scene at 3pm.

Anyone who was in the vacinity of Ballinascorney Hill between 6.30am on September 29th and 4am on September 30th has been asked contact Tallaght garda station on 01 666 000 or the force's confidential line, 1800 666 111.
