Nicholas Hoult and Kristen Stewart’s first film together has got them feeling seriously gooey about each other and it’s making us feel nauseous.
The pair star in romantic sci-fi movie Equals as Silas and Nila, two citizens in a dystopian society where everyone wears white, and emotions have been out-lawed.
Surprise surprise, they fall in love anyway, and it seems the actors themselves got incredibly intimate with each other when preparing their roles, and during filming.
In a movie featurette, Nick gushes over Kristen, saying: ‘I think she’s incredibly intelligent. She’s got a real way with words. A passion. Once we’re in the scene, it’s just like… I just believe her.’
In turn, 26-year-old Kristen says of him: ‘I couldn’t have done it with someone who didn’t have what he has which is honestly just willingness and talent and imagination. We both jumped into this with such raw emotion.’

The pair star in the futuristic EqualsNick, also 26, adds: ‘That idea of finding that person who can awaken you… I’m very sappy and romantic and that’s something that I really enjoy.’

To be honest, this movie reminds us pretty strongly of ropey 2001 Christian Bale film Equilibrium, about a totalitarian state where you can be removed from society for a ‘sense offence’ – and people take drugs to suppress their emotions.
If you put that concept in the romantic genre rather than the high-octane action thriller one, you’d get the similarly-named Equals.
