A ‘killer clown’ who rampaged through a university campus with a roaring chainsaw has said, ‘Sorry’ – but only after he was arrested for the prank.
Kenny Parker, 19, a student at London’s Brunel University was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after he was filmed chasing friends across the campus with a working chainsaw on Saturday night.
He apologised after his YouTube stunt was caught on camera by a fellow student.
‘The internet has just blown this way out of proportion,’ he said. ‘People are making me out to be a terrorist.’
‘I’m really nervous. I don’t know what is going to happen. It’s such a mess.
‘First of all I want to say a massive sorry to anyone I have scared. Secondly, this was a YouTube video.
‘All those people in the video: they were my friends. It was a pre-planned thing, and none of the people who I chased were strangers.
‘Everyone could see me talking to my friends beforehand. There are 400 cameras on the campus and you can check them and see that the people I chased are my friends.’
A Facebook group called ‘Clown Hunters UK’ has been launched and is promising to ‘give them a taste of their own medicine and hunt them down’.
