Man dies at Ikea in Reading in ‘workplace accident’

A man has died at a branch of Ikea following a ‘workplace accident’.

Police this afternoon revealed that the man died at 2.33am at the store in Pincents 
They were called to attend the incident by South Central Ambulance Service.

Thames Valley Police said no arrests had been made and that officers would stay on site while an investigation is carried out.
The store remains closed.

Ikea’s deputy retail manager, Javier Quinones, confirmed the death and said: ‘The safety and security of everyone on our premises is always our highest priority and we are now supporting the Thames Valley Police with their investigation.
‘The store will remain closed this morning.

‘Our thoughts are with the individual’s family at this time.’

Thames Valley Police said: ‘We attended the scene, where sadly a man had died. No arrests have been made.

‘Officers remain at the site while an investigation is carried out, and the store is currently closed.’
