Bill Murray or Tom Hanks? The internet’s latest optical illusion has everyone confused

It’s this year’s blue dress/white dress all over again.

The internet has been grappling with this question for the past few days – is this a photo of Tom Hanks or Bill Murray?

The image of a man who is definitely one of the actors crying next to a baby has been doing the rounds with fans more than just a little but confused.

We have the answer though.

In fact, we’ve known since 2013 just who it is.
The photo was originally posted on the Reasons My Son is Crying Facebook page three years ago.

Laura DiMichele-Ross, who submitted the picture of her son Alexander wailing next to the celebrity, cleared up the debate in an interview with the BBC.

She said: ‘It’s definitely Bill.’
Laura explained: ‘Bill’s a good person to follow as he jokes around and takes photos with fans.

‘My son took one look at him and started bawling.’
The photo was taken by her husband Adam at the Alfred Dunhill Links golf competition at St Andrews in October 2012.

So there you have it. It’s NOT Tom Hanks and we can all sleep peacefully tonight.
