India’s limited-overs opener Rohit Sharma completed a successful surgery on his right upper quadriceps tendon at a hospital in London on Friday.

Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to give fans an update about his injury which he sustained during the fifth and the final ODI against New Zealand in Vishakhapatnam on October 29.

“All went well. Thank you for your good wishes. Can’t wait to be back at it,” tweeted Rohit Sharma.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its last update on Rohit’s injury had stated that: “He will travel to London early next week for specialist consultation with a possibility to undergo surgery.” Rohit Sharm is expected to be out of cricket for at least three months, according to a source.

Rohit injured his right thigh while completing a run during the deciding ODI. The injury aggravated when he decided to continue with his innings before being dismissed at 70. According to the source, Rohit knew he will undergo a surgery even before travelling to London for consultation.
