It may be time to kick your partner out of bed.
Sleeping with them could be bad for your health, according to research from the University of Leeds.
Especially if their habits, such as snoring, stop you from getting enough sleep at night.
As well as making you cranky, a lack of sleep could also increase your chances of getting depressed, having a heart attack or suffering a stroke.
And if that wasn’t bad enough it may also lead to you getting a divorce
‘Almost a third of Brits say they can’t get a good night’s sleep because they are disturbed by their partner,’ said sleep expert Dr Nerina Ramlakhan from Silentnight.
‘So for many people it’s clear that sleeping in separate rooms might make for a better more restful sleep.’
If you feel you can’t be separated from your partner then there is an alternative.
Sleep expert Dr Guy Meadows suggests you make a deal with your other half on what happens at bed time.
‘Whilst some people like to read a book, others love to watch TV. Compromise is the key and so find a routine that works for both parties,’ he said.
‘If that doesn’t work, it may be a case of using ear plugs and eye masks to block out any unwanted noise and light.’
He added problems at night were often caused by varying sleep patterns in relationships.
