Christian 'The Animal' Holley's partner Zamara Rodriguez was left with horrific burns across her body after she skidded across the busy carriageway
According to Mirror the bikini model wife of a cage fighter was left bleeding in the road after being knocked from her scooter in a hit-and-run horror.
Christian Holley, 28, from Greater Manchester, nearly lost his wife, Zamara Rodriguez, when she was hit while travelling at more than 60mph on a motorway near Benalmadena in southern Spain.
The mum-of-two and fitness model, 27, from Marbella, was left with horrific burns across her body after she skidded across the busy carriageway.
Her elbow was also badly cut and she has undergone an operation on her face after her helmet visor — and part of her cheek — were torn off.
But police have so far failed to track down the driver — and road cameras are understood not to have picked up the car’s registration plates, reports Manchester Evening News.
Now her husband, who fights under the name Christian ‘the Animal’ Holley, is throwing his weight behind the investigation.
He said: “I’ve spoken to the chief of police and forensic detectives are searching cameras off the motorway to try to get the car.
“But we want to do all we can to find whoever did this to Zamara and stop him from doing it to anybody else.”
It was a month ago that Zamara was returning from training during evening rush hour when the horrific accident happened.
Christian who lives with his wife and sons Danile, six, and Christian, four, in Fuengirola, added: “I received a call from Zamara’s phone and it was a man to tell me she had been badly injured — it was terrifying.
I didn’t want to believe it at first and when I saw her I was hysterical.
"I wanted to find out who had done this to her. I still want to find the driver of this car before they do it to someone else.
"Zamara will get through this because she is so strong minded and confident.”
A month later, and Zamara is still coming to terms with her injuries.
As well as daily hospital visits to dress her wounds, the scarring has affected her psychologically and she is building the courage to return to work.
In a cruel twist of fate, she had removed her protective jacket just 10 minutes before the crash — and given it to another motorcyclist who had been hit.
Sadly, after waiting with him for an ambulance, nobody came to her aid as she lay in the road shortly afterwards.
Instead, she had to limp to flag down a car and get help.
Recovering at home, she said: “I was so lucky I fell where I did, where there were no cars coming to hit me again, it could have been so much worse.
“But if we don’t find this driver I think it will happen to someone else. Please help us if you know anything.”
A Facebook campaign to find the driver has been shared thousands of times — but the couple are looking for more witnesses to come forward.
The accident took place on October 10 at 6.30pm near the Arroyo de la Miel turn off on the A7.
Christian moved from Greater Manchester as a child and with his family to live in Spain.
He found it tough at first and was bullied at school — but that hardship was to become his window into martial arts.
He started karate as a way to shrug off his tormentors — and then became a serious competitor.
As a teenager, he began competing in the sport — and also took up kiteboarding, which soon became his career.
He later swapped kiteboarding for cage fighting and he has been a professional since 2008 competing in the MMA.
It was at a party following a winning fight that Christian met Zamara.
He’s now represented by One Championship — among the biggest cage fighting agencies in the world.
