This is the moment a car burst into flames and exploded into a massive fireball after a collision between two drivers during a NASCAR race.

Racer Martin Truex Jr had took off for the Sprint Cup finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway track when his car appeared to collide with one being driven by Carl Edwards.

The crash caused sparks to fly off the track as the cars slammed into each other at great speed.

And although Edwards was able to drive his car away and finish the race, Truex had to pull out after his car caught fire.

But luckily he managed to escape by sliding out of the window before his vehicle burst into flames.

And speaking after the race, Truex told 9news: 'All I saw was the No. 2 (Brad Keselowski’s car) coming up the track and nowhere to go

'This is one of those wrong place, wrong time moments.'

The final race saw Truex finish the Nascar season in a disappointing 36th place after being unable to finish the final race.
