Two police officers were beaten up by a mob of 30 children after they went to search a boy they believed to have a knife.
They went to search one of the boys after they saw him hide a knife in Lewisham on November 9 shortly after the end of school.
A union spokesman has claimed that ëFeudalism is alive and wellí as Cornish estate workers face a homeless new year. The union said that grown men had been in tears at the prospect of losing their jobs and possibly their homes in the new year, after the trustees employed Savills Rural to manage the 6,000 acre estate on behalf of the late earlís grandson and heir. Six workers, who work as gardeners and maintenance staff, have been given notice — two live in tied houses and several have accommodation at a low rent. The longest serving estate worker has 36 years employment.

As they did, one of the officers was punched repeatedly in the face before he fell down. While on the ground he was kicked in the head and had to be taken to hospital.
A female PC stepped in to help him but ended up being punched and left with a broken jaw.
The first police officer suffered serious bruising and his mobile phone was damaged.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and has been bailed until December.
Several people filmed the attack and police want people to hand it over to police.
Detective Sergeant Jenny White said: ‘It happened at a very busy time of the day and there would’ve been a large number of people in the area.
‘These officers go to work every day to keep the public safe and this demonstrates the dangers the police can face while carrying out these duties.’
