STAR WARS producer Kathleen Kennedy speaks out on Disney’s plans for after Episode IX, while JJ Abrams reveals his huge regrets about not directing Episode VIII.
After last year’s Episode VII: The Force Awakens and its billion dollar success, Disney is off to a great start with its new Star Wars trilogy.
But apart from its new spin-offs, starting with Rogue One in a few weeks, what will happen to the main Skywalker saga after 2019’s Episode IX?
Fans have been speculating whether there will be Episodes X, XI and XII or if the main storyline will finish.
Now Lucasfilm president Kennedy has spoken out on the future of Star Wars.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly she said: “That’s a conversation going on right now, too, I have to honestly tell you, could we [do nothing but stand-alones]? Sure.
“But I don’t know. We are looking at all of that. There are [possible movies] that we have been talking a lot about, but we are planning to sit down in January, since we will have had The Force Awakens released, now Rogue One, and we’ve finished shooting Episode VIII.
“We have enough information where we can step back a little bit and say, What are we doing? What do we feel is exciting? And what are some of the things we want to explore?”
DogsTrust has come up with a list of their dogs who need a new home across the UK, all of which have a great resemblance to famous Star Wars characters.
Apart from the main saga of Episodes, there are two other confirmed spin-offs apart from Rogue One.
In 2018 Alden Ehrenreich will star in a young Han Solo spin-off, which could well turn into a trilogy if found to be successful.
