A plane has narrowly missed a crash after colliding with a vulture, which made a huge hole in the aircraft windshield during a takeoff in Brazil. A video on YouTube depicts the crew and passengers covered in blood, bird remains and pieces of broken glass.
The incident took place in Marechal Cunha Machado Airport in Sao Luis, the capital and largest city in the Brazilian state of Maranhao.
A huge hole can be seen in the plane’s windshield. Both pilots and two passengers received minor injuries from broken glass and were covered in the remains and blood of the bird — the unluckiest was the pilot on the right side of the aircraft where the bird struck.
The plane managed to make an emergency landing at the airport.
