Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that there is no need in mobilization in Ukraine, according to the presidential press service.
Answering the questions of journalists in Ivano-Frankivsk, the President reminded that the last wave of mobilization had been completed in September. “We have finally managed to cease fire. And we maintain it,” the President said, according to the presidential website.
However, he added that the Armed Forces must stay on guard. “In case of threats, we will declare them publicly,” the Head of State assured.
The President informed that regular conscription would take place by the end of the year. Yet, new recruits will not be sent to the ATO area.
210,000 Ukrainian citizens were drafted in six waves of mobilization, due to the situation in Donbas caused by the invasion of the Russian troops.
On October 14, Petro Poroshenko noted that as a result the visits to Brussels, Berlin, New York, and Paris resulted in "if not ending, then puting on pause the hot phase of the conflict," in Donbas.
